The weather is turning down right COLD here. As usual, we barely had a fall. I’m going to look at the bright side and use this colder weather as an excuse to read more books! Here are the books recommendations that I wanted to share in October. See my September book recommendations in THIS post!
Stir Crazy Book Recommendations
Light & Easy Read
The Overdue Life of Amy Byler ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
I really loved this book. It’s a quick and easy read, very light, but also tackles the tough subject matter of a mom who reluctantly reinvents herself. I think any mom can relate to giving up a little bit of yourself and can relate to Amy’s journey to finding herself.
My Current Cookbook
From Freezer to Table
With all of the fall activities and entertaining, it’s easy to fall off the cook-at-home bandwagon. This cookbook helps a ton by giving tips for freezing portions and reheating them when you need a last minute meal! It has so many breakfast recipes too if you’re planning on hosting this holiday season, I highly recommend this book so you’re extra prepared!
Books My Husband Read
Sam read this book in record time. I’m putting it on my “To Read” list immediately. He was laughing out loud throughout the entire thing! I can’t wait to read it.
Books my Kids are Loving
Here are some more of the boys’ favorite books to read.
The Magic Treehouse – Dinosaurs Before Dark (#1)
We decided it was time for chapter books! I love to read and I want Harris & Lee to enjoy the benefits that a good book can bring. After talking with friends with kids the same age as Harris, I decided now is a great time to start! A friend is letting me borrow ALL of these Magic Treehouse books and so far we love them!
A fun little exchange regarding chapter books – I love it:
Asking Harris if he was ready to read his chapter book for the first time.
Sam: Oh that’s fun, what is it called?
Harris: It’s called…CHAPTER!
Llama Llama Time to Share
We obviously love this book for many reasons. We are constantly working on taking turns and sharing toys with our friends, as well as with each other. This cute book has been a favorite for both boys lately and let’s be honest, we need all the help we can get!
I love hearing what friends are reading, too! Please drop me a comment or email to let me know if you have any good ones. Or if you enjoyed any of these recommendations!
